| Oregon Association '2011 Winter Workshop' to Focus on School Bus Bullying |

A chapter of the Oregon Association for Pupil Transportation announced its will present training on "Bullying - What Are You Going to Do?" in February. The South Willamette Chapter's 2011 Winter Workshop consists of a full-day of training on Feb. 26 that will include three presentations as well as a mock bullying/hostage event field exercise. Dr. Allan Beane of Bully Free Systems will present two of the topics, "The Role of Bus Drivers in Stopping the Pain and Violence" and "How to Conduct On-the-Spot Response to Bullying." NAPT Executive Director Mike Martin will then discuss with attendees "Bleeding Yellow - Passionate About School Transportation?" The mock drill is presented by state, city and county police as well as a SWAT team. Those who complete the day-long workshop receive six hours of classroom credit approved by the Oregon Department of Education. |
