The state's Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse Advisory Board is seeking nominations for its School Bus Operator of the Year Award. To be eligible, school bus operators must have performed an "exceptional, extraordinary, outstanding, or heroic" activity while on duty that resulted in the prevention of a child abduction or the recovery of a child who was in danger. The Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will select the winner and award the honor on Sept. 12 in Tallahassee in conjunction with Florida Missing Children's Day, which has been celebrated annually since 1999. |
