School districts across the country are feeling the pressure to pinch their pennies, as programs supported by government funding are expected to experience continued financial pressure.
The Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB), Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE), six school districts and two individual taxpayers claim that a new state law that is designed to help foster care students, will unfairly impact school transportation and should be ruled unconstitutional. Especially at issue is the cross-district busing, which is the crux of the litigation.
A “pre-application workshop” is being held Tuesday morning to share information on the $78.7 million in grant funding from the California Energy Commission to replace the state’s oldest and most polluting school buses.
