Solid Blue Bird Fiscal 2018 Second Quarter Financial Performance Supports Achievement of Full Year Guidance

Macon, GA — Blue Bird Corporation (“Blue Bird”) (Nasdaq: BLBD), the leading independent designer and manufacturer of school buses, announced today its fiscal 2018 second quarter results. Blue Bird Corporation delivered higher revenue, up 4 percent from the prior year, positive net income of $1.8 million and solid Adjusted EBITDA of $10.0 million.  Positive earnings were delivered despite higher commodity costs.

NYS Bus Distributors Assn. Releases Recommendations for New York’s Volkswagen Settlement Funds

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New York State Bus Distributors Association (NYSBDA) is recommending that New York State use some of its Volkswagen Clean Air Act settlement funds to establish a school bus replacement program. The program allows for the purchase of school buses with all current viable engine and fuel technologies that meet or exceed the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) 2010 emission standards for school buses.

NEW YORK — Chestnut Ridge Transportation, a member of the Trans Group family of bus operations, recently served as honoree at Good Samaritan Hospital’s 33rd Annual Spring Ball, receiving the Good Samaritan Hospital Medal of Honor. Fellow honoree Dr. Cary Hirsch received the Sister Joseph Rita Award for Medical Excellence. Thanks in part to the support of Chestnut Ridge Transportation, the event raised nearly $300,000 for the Rockland County-based healthcare provider.
