Missouri Awards State Contract for Student Information Systems to Tyler Technologies

DALLAS — The Missouri Office of Administration has awarded a contract for a student information system solution to Tyler Technologies, Inc.

Under the agreement, Missouri school districts can purchase Tyler SIS, also known in Missouri as SISK12, at a negotiated rate from the state contract without going through their own time-consuming request for proposal (RFP) process.

Additionally, school districts that purchase off the contract may choose optional Tyler products for student transportation, special education, food service, information warehousing and financial and human resource management.

“The evaluation team chose Tyler SIS because of Tyler Technologies’ experience in Missouri and current work with both small and large districts,” said Leigh Ann Grant-Engle, assistant commissioner of the Office of Data System Management for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. “Tyler SIS has many years of experience with our state- and federal-level reporting requirements. That experience will help Missouri school districts be more efficient and give them additional time to spend with students, staff and parents.”

The agreement with the Missouri Office of Administration requires Tyler Technologies to establish a Missouri SIS User Group, which will function as a statewide advisory panel for Tyler’s SIS solution. The purpose of the user group is to identify needs of participating districts specifically related to training and technical assistance, and detail any modifications needed to aid in the performance of Tyler SIS.

“Tyler SIS is a proven, mature student information system that provides students, parents and teachers with simple, intuitive functionality,” said Nick Botonis, president of Tyler SIS. “Tyler has more than 30 local development, implementation and support staff and many active user groups in Missouri. We are committed to providing Missouri school districts with the tools they need to ensure success.”
