The Minnesota Association for Pupil Transportation announced that it reached the 50,000 CD sales level on its interactive animated "Ride the Bus Game." MAPT also recently reached the 50,000 video sales level on its "Safety Squadron" cartoon student bus safety video, according to David Peterson, MAPT spokesman and director of transportation at St. Paul Public Schools. Introduced in 2006, the Ride the Bus Game is a fun-filled, interactive CD for students in primary grades available from Pupil Transportation Safety Institute and Positive Promotions. Play time is 20 to 30 minutes, and 12 school bus safety rules are presented in five interactive games. The Safety Squadron video has different cartoon characters teaching the fundamentals of student school bus safety. This video is intended for students through primary grades. Run time is appropriately eight minutes. The video comes in VHS or DVD format, and is available in English, Spanish, Hmong, or Somali languages. The Safety Squadron video was introduced in 2001.
