Kevin Jennings will keynote the Transporting Students with Disabilities and Preschoolers 20th National Conference and Exhibition in Kansas City in March, the event's organizer announced.

Roseann Schwaderer, owner of conference organizer EduPro Group, said Jennings will speak to attendees on the $38.8 million Safe and Supportive Schools grant program, which was announced in October. Jennings is scheduled to make his presentation on March 14.

Jennings also spoke to the industry on Oct. 31 during the NAPT Summit in Portland, Ore., about the grant program and its efforts to help school officials, including pupil transporters, to report and reduce bullying incidents.

In a separate announcement, Schwaderer also said the conference will feature three separate registration workshops, including one that will cover all facets of transporting young children — training and contract management, autism behaviors, securement on the bus, professional development goals, emergency evacuation, managing aggression and anger, and positioning practices for young riders with medical conditions.

A second workshop will feature the NHTSA National Training on Child Passenger Safety Restraint Systems. A third will consist of an executive briefing for human resource and risk managers that focuses on how to "Manage Risks of Cyber-Age Technologies," which will be taught by Peggy Burns and Mark Hinson of Education Compliance Group.

The conference, titled "Show Me!", is scheduled for March 11-16 with the 14th National Special Needs Team Safety Roadeo being held March 11-13 at South Valley Junior High in nearby Liberty, Mo.

Early bird registration for the conference continues through Feb. 4.
