A school bus crash claimed the lives of two Choctaw County (Miss.) Schools teachers and sent some students to the hospital.

It was an emotional press conference at the Ackerman Community Center when High School Principal Terry Bellew addressed those in attendance on the school bus accident that took place Tuesday afternoon. The Mississippi Highway Patrol was still investigating the crash.

"Words can not describe the love and devotion these two teachers had for their students," said Bellew.

Phyllis Graham, a special education teacher, and Steven Moss, coach of both the high school football and golf teams, died Tuesday when in which the school bus they were riding, along with 54 students, was hit almost head-on by an 18-wheeler that had already side-swiped another school bus.

"We continue to pray for the families of Mrs. Graham and Coach Moss and Mr. Bailey for the great loss they have suffered," said Superintendent Donna Shea during the press conference.

The driver of the tractor-trailer also died in the crash. Thirteen students and one other teacher were treated and released from hospitals the night of the crash. Four remained hospitalized for observation as of this writing.
