Earlier this month, we reported that Braun announced it was recalling certain Century-2 and Vista-2 wheelchair lifts because the roll stop latches on the lift's outer barrier may become bent or misaligned, which could allow the wheelchair to override the roll stop and result in occupant injury when the lift is in the up position.
Several school bus OEMs have since released their own NHTSA recall notices for specific makes and model years of vehicles affected. The most recent campaign was initiated this week by Trans Tech Bus, which says nearly 80 of its Type A school buses need repairs on the wheelchair lifts. The company is recalling eight bus models with model years ranging from 2008 through 2010 and one model year 2007.
Earlier, Micro Bird published a similar recall notice. All repairs will be made by authorized Braun dealers free of charge.
