Joanne Vento, a special education trainer for Douglas County School District in Castle Rock, Colo., recently became the 30th transporter in North America to complete the NAPT Special Needs Transportation (SNT) Training Program.

NAPT said Vento completed the requisite six courses and two electives during the 2012 Transporting Students with Disabilities & Preschoolers National Conference earlier this year in Orlando, Fla., and at through the Colorado State Pupil Transportation Association.

The special needs endorsement through NAPT is completed by passing six Professional Development Series courses and the two elective courses, which can be completed in person at a state or national industry conference or online.
