IC Bus named Rush Bus Centers of Ohio as the 2013 Dealer of the Year and also announced its annual Pursuit of Excellence dealership award.

The bus OEM has recognized the following for their efforts to improve sales and customer satisfaction: Rush Bus Centers of Ohio; two-time winner Leonard Bus Sales, Inc. of New York; Midwest Transit Equipment of Illinois; Summit Bus of New Mexico; Truck Sales and Service, Inc. of Ohio; and Western Canada IC Bus.

“Chosen among all IC Bus dealerships across North America, these six winners have gone above and beyond to find success,” said John McKinney, president of IC Bus. “In addition to providing unmatched customer support, these dealers have demonstrated a promise to ensuring the success of their customers and their local communities.”

The awards are based on dealer performance in several key areas in 2013, including growing market share and exceeding annual sales plans. Dealers were also required to meet a customer satisfaction index threshold as well as meet community service requirements for eligibility.

“IC Bus continues to lead the school bus industry by offering great products with the broadest selection of diesel engines, all supported by the industry’s strongest dealer network,” said McKinney. “On behalf of everyone at IC Bus, I sincerely congratulate our top performers of 2013.”

Recently, the bus OEM announced the summer dates for its IC Bus University training sessions. Classes will be held on June 23-26, July 7-10, July 21-24 and August 4-7 at the company's Tulsa, Okla., plant.

IC Bus, which is a subsidiary of Navistar, said it was the first school bus manufacturer to offer formal factory training for technicians. The training sessions are focused on engines, diagnostics and preventive maintenance/repair procedures. The program also includes a full plant tour of the IC Bus facility in Tulsa and comprehensive information on parts, service and maintenance.

"We remain focused on building and maintaining the best relationships in the business," said Carl Webb, vice president and general manager of IC Bus. "By offering this program, we are investing in our customers' bottom lines by providing technicians with additional education and proficiency with our products."
