This morning dozens of people in Port Charlotte turned on their outdoor lights in honor of Angel Garcia, a teenager who was hit by a truck last week while walking to his bus stop. The family of the 17-year-old made the decision to take the boy off life support Thursday afternoon, just days after the accident.

The school bus industry awoke Saturday to the startling news that industry veteran, mentor and current National Association for Pupil Transportation President Don Carnahan died Friday night from what a consultant for the National School Transportation Association referred to in an email as a "massive heart attack." He was 75.

Detroit Diesel Engines to Return to Thomas Built Buses in 2016 PDF Print E-mail

After several years away from the medium-duty market, Detroit Diesel is back. Daimler Trucks North America, the parent company of Thomas Built Buses, announced that it will once again offer the Detroit brand, medium-duty diesel engines starting in 2016 with the introduction of the new DD5 and DD8.
