First Trans Tech Bus All-Electric SST-e in Use at California School District PDF Print E-mail

Kings Canyon Unified School District located in California’s San Joaquin Valley received its first SST-e model last month, and expects three more soon. School officials estimate that each all-electric school bus will save more than $10,000 a year in fuel and maintenance costs.

Updated: Amended Indiana Bill Allowing School Bus Advertising Passes Senate PDF Print E-mail

An Indiana bill designed to prevent widespread cutbacks in school bus service was amended a second time before it passed the Senate last week. Now, HB 1062 would allow school bus ads to generate revenue in three districts as part of a pilot approved by bill sponsor Sen. Patricia Miller (R-Indianapolis).

24th Annual TSD Conference Scheduled to Return to Texas PDF Print E-mail

As attendees were checking out of the host hotel for the Transporting Students with Disabilities and Preschoolers National Conference in Nashville, Tenn., many were already setting their sites on the 2015 conference, which is returning to Frisco, Texas, March 20-25.

Update: Wyoming Legislature Approves School Bus Video Cameras PDF Print E-mail

Yesterday the state Senate gave final approval to a bill that would require Wyoming school districts to equip new school buses with cameras by the 2015-16 school year to target motorists who illegally pass stopped buses. After passing on a 19-11 vote, House Bill 5 was sent to Gov. Matt Mead for his consideration.
