Pa. Association Pleased Governor Scrapped Block-Grant Funding for School Buses PDF Print E-mail

After expressing concerns during the budget process, the Pennsylvania School Bus Association (PSBA) is applauding a decision this month by the legislature and Gov. Tom Corbett to preserve a dedicated line of funding for student transportation, rather than placing it in a proposed block grant.

Texas School District Sues Caterpillar to Recoup $3M Spent on New School Buses After Fire PDF Print E-mail

Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas, filed a lawsuit last month against Caterpillar and a local distributor after a school bus fire nearly two years ago forced the district to ground two dozen similar buses equipped with the same diesel engine.

New Michigan Law Clarifies, Strengthens Illegal School Bus Passing Law PDF Print E-mail

Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation into law to require motorists to come to complete stops at least 20 feet from school buses with their red flashers and stop arm engaged when students are loading or unloading.

Joanne Vento, a special education trainer for Douglas County School District in Castle Rock, Colo., recently became the 30th transporter in North America to complete the NAPT Special Needs Transportation (SNT) Training Program.
