Oklahoma School District Continues Rebuilding Effort Following Deadly Tornado PDF Print E-mail

Trent Gibson, director of student transportation at the Oklahoma State Department of Education, told STN the EF5 tornado that brought devastation to the community of Moore, south of Oklahoma City, last week narrowly missed the school district's bus facility.

Senate Bill Once Again Targets Seclusion, Restraint in Schools PDF Print E-mail

Rep. George Miller (D-CA) re-introduced in the House The All Students Safe Act, which would set for the first time minimum safety standards at schools to curb teacher and staff abuse in how they apply seclusion and restraint to students when dealing with emotional or behavioral outbursts.

National Initiative Launched to Increase School Bus Safety PDF Print E-mail

Child Safety Network (CSN) announced it has created the  Safe Bus Safety Network, a program designed to bring safety enhancements to schools with limited funds so they can implement changes on their own.
