NSTA Recognizes Industry Leaders at National Convention in St. Louis

The National School Transportation Association met for its 46th annual convention last week and honored nine transportation professionals during an awards banquet on July 27.

Following is a breakdown of winners in their respective categories, as reported by NSTA:

Golden Merit Award

  • Kirk Flach, Durham School Services
  • Robert Hatchett, Durham School Services

Hall of Fame Award

  • Barry Stock, National Express Corp./Durham School Services
  • Stan Weber, First Student Canada

Distinguished Service Award

  • Kellie Dean, Dean Transportation, Inc.

Outstanding Driver Service Award

  • Dwight Miller, Riteway Bus Service

Meritorious Service Award

  • Robin Leeds, NSTA Industry Consultant

Go Yellow, Go Green Award

  • Kickert School Bus Line, Inc.

School Bus Fleet's Contractor of the Year Award

  • Blake Krapf, Krapf Bus Companies

In addition, 25 operations in nine states were recognized with Green Fleet Certifications for their efforts in meeting EPA emissions standards in their fleets. Companies represented were: Dousman Transportation in Hartland, Wis.; Hendrickson Bus Corp. in Bayville, N.Y.; Hungtington Bus Corp. (three terminals); National Express Corp. (14 terminals); Latino Express in Chicago; Riteway Bus Service in Richfield, Wis.; Dell Transportation (two terminals); and United Quick Transportation in Chicago.
