The National Association for Pupil Transportation announced the winners of its annual school bus poster competition, and a Florida student took home the overall trophy.

German Salazar of Oviedo, Fla., won Division III with his rendition, pictured, of the 2010 National School Bus Safety Poster Contest theme "Be Aware - Know the Danger Zone." The slogan referred to the at least 12-foot radius around the school bus at loading and unloading stops that averages more student fatalities than those that occur in onboard accidents.

Two students from Oregon, the host of the NAPT Summit earlier this month, also took home first prize. First place in Division IV went to Celah Diane Malone of Portland, the host city for both the NAPT Summit and the NASDPTS annual conference. Winning the CAD Division was Emily Davis of Baker, Ore., about 240 miles east of Portland.
