Stock Transportation Partners with Local Fire Departments to Improve Safety

CAMBRIDGE, N.S. Canada — Stock Transportation, a leader in student transportation, is partnering with the Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department, and Waterville and District Fire Department to enhance first responder training.

With safety at the forefront, Stock will be donating a bus to each fire department to use for safety training drills that allow first responders to be better equipped with skills for emergencies involving a school bus. These drills include potential incidents involving water, fire and vehicle rollovers.

“We appreciate Stock Transportation’s generous donation,” said Chief Doug Clark of Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department. “The donated bus will provide us with the means to advance our skills and help service the public in a more efficient manner during incidents involving a school bus.”

“Volunteer firefighters cannot always get their hands-on resources for the practical training,” Kevin Ernest, public relations at Waterville and District Fire Department explained. “This school bus donation from Stock provides us with a tremendous training opportunity.”

For 60 years, Stock has safely transported students across Nova Scotia, Ontario and Alberta. Rooted in these communities where we live and work, the Stock team takes pride in putting the safety above all else.

“At Stock, we are committed to our core values, which include safety, community and people,” said Tina Coldwell, general manager for Stock Transportation. “As a community partner, we are proud to be able to help those who take pride in the same values—our first responders. Their commitment to serving our communities is admirable.”
