The American Association of School Administrators Radio broadcast its first show this week.

Dan Domenech, AASA executive director, hosted an interview with Malcolm Gladwell, a staff writer at The New Yorker magazine and author who was selected as one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People.”

Gladwell discusses innovative ways schools can succeed in improving the learning ability of students. For example, he talks about how underachieving academic programs can learn from lessons learned by sports teams, often very successful ones that exist in the very school districts that see the lowest test scores.

He also told school administrators that they have tremendous power in their community that can promote behavior, learning and attitude that benefits children.

Gladwell’ will give one of the keynote addresses at the annual AASA conference held in February in Phoenix.
