Transportation Collaborative Inc., on behalf of subsidiary Trans Tech, has issued a recall of a small number of buses that could have a seating-related issue if the vehicle was involved in a crash. As part of NHTSA campaign 10V277000, TCI is currently notifying the owners of five U.S. Bus STH5, STHF5, and Universe model school buses manufactured after June 9, 2009. According to the manufacturer, "the pedestal-to-floor anchor bolts and washers are incorrect," which could cause the school buses to fail to conform to FMVSS 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages." TCI said that failure of the seat pedestal could result in passenger injury in the event of a crash. The safety recall was expected to kick off by this month, with TCI performing repairs free of charge. Owners can contact 845/988-2333. |
