The upcoming IC Bus training session for service technicians will coincide with School Bus Safety Week this fall, the manufacturer announced. IC Bus University, an "intense training program for today’s school bus technician" according to the company, will be held the week of Oct. 18, 2010 at the IC Bus plant in Tulsa, Okla. IC Bus University provides up to 43 hours of instruction to school bus technicians, including 24 hours of training on engines, bus electrical and bus maintenance. John Thompson, the director of sales and training for IC Bus, said attendees can also benefit from two-hour evening sessions on Oct. 18 and 21 that tackle full power brakes, Ricon lifts, IC Bus air conditioning and Braun lifts. There will also be three lunch presentations by Specialty Manufacturing, AkzoNobel on paint repair and maintenance and Navistar parts. The event includes a guided plant tour of the Tulsa facility that shows attendees the placement and location of critical components prior to being covered in the manufacturing process. “Thus far, we have had students from as far away as American Samoa and from all over the United States and Canada," said Thompson. "We are extremely proud of the quality of our offering and look forward to continuing this program for the October session and beyond."
