In an effort to become more efficient and effective, FirstGroup will not be filling the North American CEO position vacated by Mike Murray last month.

Effective immediately, First Student President Linda Burtwistle, First Transit and First Services President Brad Thomas and Greyhound President and CEO Dave Leach will report directly to Sir Moir Lockhead, CEO of FirstGroup plc.

"FirstGroup's three business unit presidents worked closely with FirstGroup plc leadership to determine a leadership structure that would be both efficient and effective," said company spokesperson Maureen Richmond. "Directly reporting to the UK makes sense for the growth and prosperity of our North American business."

In addition to leading First Student, Linda Burtwistle will be responsible for all functional responsibilities within corporate headquarters.
