While the industry continues to constrict in the economy, school bus GPS provider Everyday Solutions just received a large infusion of cash as it literally brought to the table an investment group with deep channels into the transportation, technology, government and finance industries.

Everyday announced this month that it is joining forces with Fontinalis Partners, which was formed last year by executives at Ford Motor Company and two other investment and management consulting firms to focus on transportation technology. Along with bringing Fontinalis co-founder Ralph Booth to its board of directors, Everyday also received $2.8 million.

The partnership also means Bill Ford, the executive chairman at Ford Motor Company and vice president of the NFL's Detroit Lions, is an investor in Everyday. In a statement, Bill Ford said that Everyday Solutions meshes with the Fontinalis Partners strategy of promoting products and services "devoted to solving the world's most pressing environmental and mobility-oriented goals."

Jay Wurts, Everyday's presdient and CEO, said the investment will allow the company to accelerate its growth toward expanding penetration in the K-12 school transportation market.

Everyday Wireless added that, while closely linked to Ford Motor Company, Fonintalis Partners operates independently.
