Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 17,050 Thomas Built ER, MVP and HDX model school buses
equipped with dual power switches. The recall is filed under NHTSA campaign ID #08V622000.
Solid state circuit breakers on buses manufactured between February 2002 and October 2008 may trip unnecessarily. This could potentially result in a loss of power to the bus chassis and electrical circuits causing an unexpected loss of engine power and exterior lighting, according to the recall notice. Thomas Built Buses dealers will replace the solid-state, dual power switch with a mechanical circuit production (mega fuse). Owners can contact Thomas Built Buses at 336/889-4871, call NHTSA at 888/327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov for more information. |
