A Connecticut state representative has vowed to bring new seat belt legislation with him when the legislative sessions begins on Feb. 3 after the death of a 16-year-old student.

A state representative last week filed the most recent attempt to require seat belt restraints on newly purchased school buses.

The Alabama Department of Education responded to the NTSB investigation into the 2006 Huntsville school bus crash by reminding local school systems to impose severe penalties upon school bus drivers who fail to wear their seat belts.
