It's apropos that "Show Me!" is the theme of the 20th National Conference on Transporting Students with Disabilities & Preschoolers held next March in Kansas City, thanks to Charlene Majors.

The transportation training specialist at Gwinnett County Schools in Suwannee, Ga., outside of Atlanta, submitted the phrase to describe the 2011 TSD conference to connect the show's Missouri location with the need to provide practical, hands-on training to attendees. The contest began in April, and Edupro Group accepted up to three slogans per submission.

"We had a great response to the call for a theme, with suggestions that demonstrated a lot of passion for special needs transportation and enthusiasm for the conference," said Roseann Schwaderer, the conference chair and owner of Edupro Group. " It was fun, and we'll probably do it again for the 2012 meeting."

Runners-up were: Kim Thomas, director of transportation at Rocklin (Calif.) Unified School District; Karen Ausberry, transportation area manager at Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Fla.; and Wendy Armstrong, supervisor of KDES Services for the Gallaudet University Transportation Department in Washington, DC.
