School bus drivers and attendants have until the end of the month to respond to a survey on real-world experience of transporting wheelchair-seated students in school buses. The project is headed by the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (RERC) on Wheelchair Transportation Safety, a project funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. Researchers at the University of Louisville and the University of Pittsburgh are seeking to improve transportation safety of these students with disabilities by identifying needs for improved safety technologies, standards and training. Participation in the survey is anonymous and designed for "hands-on" bus operators or attendants who work in a specially-equipped bus on a regular or part-time basis. Researcher This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it of the RERC said the survey can be completed in about 15 minutes. The deadline for submitting responses is May 31.
