K-12 Student Enrollment Data
(1996-97 School Year)

Editorial Note About Data Collection

Enrollment data presented here was reported in the 1996-97 STN Buyers Guide, an annual directory of industry information. Enrollment reflects the 1995-96 school year. Transportation data is supplied to the magazine typically by the pupil transportation section of the state department of education; occasionally pupil transportation resides in some other agency of state government. Transportation data is unaudited and may include data from previous school years depending on the reporting procedures used by the states. Furthermore, states may define the cost of pupil transportation and the counting of student riders differently, therefore, caution should be exercised when seeking to compare states as the varying methodologies simply do not allow precise comparison.
