Operation
Safe Stop is a law
enforcement and education initiative addressing the problem of motorists who illegally
pass stopped school buses. It is a cooperative effort between the student transportation
industry and state, county, city and local law enforcement. Developed by the New
York Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.
School
Bus Safety Team: A team effort involving parents, school children, the bus
driver and crossing guards-an effort that pays off in holding down costs and preventing
accidents. Developed

School Transportation Security Awareness (STSA):
Program developed by the Transportation Security Administration's Highway and Motorcarrier division in conjunction with the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services, the National Association of Pupil Transportation and the National School Transportation Association to focusing on terrorist and criminal threats to school buses, bus passengers and destination facilities.
