We train the drivers for their task.
A real live introduction
To a world beyond their wildest dreams
Begins with class instruction.

We have to cover scads of laws
And rules and regulations.
To keep us always on our toes
Takes untold preparations.

The study guides, the jokes we tell,
The examples that we share
Must all reflect on safety for
The cargo in our care.

From "movie time" and reading books
To actual bus inspections,
We take the trainees throughout the course
With very clear directions.

We train the drivers for their task.

To a world beyond their wildest dreams
Begins with class instruction.

We hope they take our words to heart,
For soon we shall be sending
Them where the day that's starts out great
Can have a tragic ending.
