Seat Belt Bills in State Legislatures: 1997
During the 1997 state legislative season, bills to require seat belts on large school buses were introduced in 17 state legislatures. All of these proposals were defeated, either in committee or on the floor. New York and New Jersey remain the only two states that require seat belts on all new school buses. |
