The Medical Profession's Point of View

The medical community is quite unanimous in its view that seat belts on school buses would reduce injuries and save lives. These six medical associations have adopted policies favoring seat belt installation. They are:

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 1992
American Association for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons
American Medical Association, 1987
Physicians for Automotive Safety, 1980
American Academy of Pediatrics, 1984, 1996
American Society for Adolescent Medicine, 1985
American College of Emergency Physicians, 1987
