Green Diesel Technology® by International CHICAGO (Aug. 2, 2005) -- International recently received verification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Green Diesel Technology® aftermarket retrofit solutions, which will reduce Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) emissions by 25 percent on International® T444E diesel engines manufactured between 1999 and 2003. This verification entitles International to be added to the EPA's list of qualified manufacturers who have passed the qualifications of the EPA's Voluntary Diesel Retrofit Program, which is made available to stakeholders interested in retrofit projects that upgrade existing vehicles in the field. International also sells Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) kits under our technology partner's (Engelhard) verification with the International brand. “This is the first time an International aftermarket solution has been verified by the EPA under the International name,” said Roger Kuchar, manager, Sales and Marketing, Green Diesel Technology - Aftermarket. “We offer a one-stop-shopping experience through our extensive dealer network that provides the customer one contact for parts, installation, service and warranty coverage. Being named to the EPA's list of qualified manufacturers gives our customers more choices, especially in those areas that are named non-attainment zones by the EPA.” Non-attainment zones are designated by the EPA because of their poor air quality. Usually metropolitan areas, non-attainment zones are subject to more stringent air quality standards than other areas. Our Green Diesel Technology® systems will enable customers to meet these stricter standards by replacing the standard muffler with our DOC retrofit kit and re-calibrating our engines. The DOC retrofit kit is inexpensive, easy to install, and requires no maintenance after installation, making it an attractive option for fleets that need to meet their non-attainment zone emissions requirements.
