VersaTrans Solutions, Inc. Partners with Zonar Systems to Improve School Bus Performance and Safety

ALBANY, N.Y. (October 12 , 2005) - VersaTrans Solutions, Inc. and Zonar Systems announced today that they will bundle school bus inspection technology from Zonar Systems with VersaTrans FleetVision software. VersaTrans Fleet Vision is an intuitive fleet management system for tracking all school bus maintenance information. Zonar's electronically-verified visual inspection system can track maintenance at the granular level, collecting safety inspection data from drivers before and after every school bus run. Combining the two makes for a safer and more efficiently run fleet.

VersaTrans FleetVision collects all fleet maintenance information in one place and uses it to generate work orders, monitor inventories and make better decisions about scheduling preventive maintenance. The Zonar Electronic Vehicle Information Report System (EVIR®) consists of RFID tags placed in key inspection "zones" around the bus and a handheld RFID reader. The school bus driver uses t he handheld reader to log the safety checks at each zone and also to note any repairs needed by using a drop down menu. The reader then transmits the inspection data to secure servers via wireless link. Automating the data exchange between Zonar's inspection system and VersaTrans FleetVision maintenance software will result in multiple benefits for customers in school bus operations, from time savings to improved performance.
