DONALDSON COMPANY SELECTED TO ASSIST DOUSMAN TRANSPORT REDUCE SCHOOL BUS EMISSIONS MINNEAPOLIS, (Oct. 19, 2005) – Donaldson Company, Inc., a leading manufacturer of filter systems and replacement parts announced today that Dousman Transport Co., Inc., a privately-owned Wisconsin school bus company, selected Donaldson to provide emission reduction equipment and technical support to retrofit 22 school buses. The Donaldson Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and Spiracle Closed Crankcase Ventilation filtration systems (CCV) were used by Dousman to complete the project. Dousman Transport received $23,000 as part of the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Clean School Bus grant program to retrofit 20% or the company's fleet. The grant, which is part of the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus program, was to be used to retrofit post-1990 buses with emission controls comparable to newer buses. The installation of the Donaldson DOC in 14 buses will reduce emissions by at least 15-30% and the DOC / CCV installation in the remaining 8 buses will see an emissions reduction as high as 30-50%. "We chose the Donaldson solutions based on our research of available products in the marketplace and our familiarity with other Donaldson products used in our operations," said Robert Nelson, president of Dousman Transport. "Donaldson's reputation and EPA approved products are well-known and respected. Their engineers worked hand-in-hand with our team to meet our targeted emissions reduction requirements."
