Archer Petroleum Proves Soy-based Products OMAHA, Neb. (Feb. 27, 2006) -- "What's good for the environment is also good for business," said Doug Salmon, vice president and general manager of Archer Petroleum. Since releasing its new line of soy-based products, the company has seen volume demand grow among a variety of groups, both public and private. According to Salmon, "Everyone in the supply chain is seeing benefits - from soybean growers, to wholesalers, retailers and customers." "Initially, we expected the greatest growth to come from government agencies impacted by the regulation requiring them to buy materials made from plants, rather than petroleum-based products," said Salmon. "But we've made tremendous inroads across all segments - from local municipalities, school districts, industry and farm operations and even homeowners." Part of Archer's success comes from the diverse range of its soy-based products. Archer produces the aptly named Graffiti Remover and Kleenease Solvent, lubricants and performance enhancers, such as Soy-Safe Bar & Chain Oil, along with Soy Guard Plus and Quik Release. These soy-based products meet the diverse needs of the markets they serve. The idea of soy- or plant-based products is not new. But issues such as decreasing reliance on foreign oil, concerns about the environment, and economics are driving interest in Archer products. Even then, it's guarded since no one wants to give up performance. That's where consumer confidence plays a role. "Archer is very fortunate to have built so much goodwill and positive support for our brand, through the strength of our products and our people," said Archer President Steve McCollister. "The performance of our soy-based line hasn't compromised this trust and confidence in our products." In fact, today's soy-based products have proven to compare favorably with their petroleum-based counterparts. They deliver such advantages as higher viscosity, lower evaporation loss and higher lubricity. In addition, soy-based products deliver what petroleum-based products cannot - environmental advantages. "We have had no shortage of positive comments from users of our new soy-based products," McCollister said. Mr. Jeff Kanavas of Trinity Youth Services in Colton, California recently wrote, "I'm writing to express my satisfaction with your graffiti removal products. Your soybean based blend has proven extremely effective in many applications throughout our agency, and I thank you for providing the solution to one our problems." Archer's broad line of products is designed for today's complex applications - mixtures still built with superior base stocks and the highest quality additives. And with these new soy-based alternatives to lubricants and cleaners, Archer proves that some of the best products in the world are also the best products for the world. Archer Petroleum has been providing premium oil to the aviation industry, farmers and more recently truckers, construction companies and heavy equipment operators throughout the Midwest since 1929. Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Archer supports a network of over 2,000 product dealers across a nine-state area. |
