Transfinder Lecture Examines High Fuel Costs

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (July 25, 2006) -- The New York State Association of School Business Officials heard a presentation entitled, "High Fuel Costs -- Best Practices" at a conference in Albany, N.Y. today. Presented by Larry Lee Fiber, a Vice President at Transfinder, the seminar was a 75-minute in-depth analysis of the changes and challenges confronting school busing organizations brought about by increased fuel prices.

Fiber focused on topics ranging from improved maintenance monitoring and field trip billing, to creating routing and alternative fuels. His presentation emphasized over a dozen non-traditional use of routing software that positively affect busing efficiencies. Among the concepts he convered in his lecture was route tiering, transfer runs, shuttle trips, walkzone enhancement, and redistricting.
