China Manufacturers Alliance, LLC (CMA) and Double Coin have purchased their first North American distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee. “Acquiring this new Memphis distribution center was necessary to support Double Coin’s rapid growth in North America, and will help us continue providing industry-leading service to our customers,” said company officials.

The new Double Coin facility, scheduled to open in late 2007, is located on 10.5 acres near the Memphis International Airport and encompasses over 150,000 square feet. It will warehouse and distribute Double Coin truck and bus radial and radial off-the-road tires to both replacement and original equipment customers. Future Double Coin products may also be distributed from the facility.

Double Coin also currently leases warehouse space in Urbana, Ohio for the distribution of tire and bus radial products, primarily to OEM customers. Both the Urbana and Memphis facilities support Double Coin’s container direct deliveries, which will continue to be the main vehicle of distribution to North American customers from manufacturing bases in Asia.

“Memphis is the optimum redistribution point for Double Coin due to its central location to major population areas in the U.S. and its large inland port operations,” say company officials. “Additional warehouses and locations will be considered in the future to further support Double Coin’s commitment to our North American customers.”
