in IndustryWeek Magazine’s Best Plants Competition

Fort Valley, Georgia (Dec. 20, 2007) IndustryWeek has named Blue Bird’s North Georgia Body Company plant among its Top 10 winners in the magazine’s Best Plants in North America 2007 competition. The Blue Bird Corporation plant was selected from manufacturing facilities across North America in recognition for dedication to continuous improvement and outstanding performance in safety, quality and productivity.

The La Fayette-based plant has been in operation since 1982 and presently manufactures the Blue Bird Vision model school bus body. “I would just like to give my sincere appreciation to all of the team members of Blue Bird North Georgia for their contribution in achieving this prestigious award,” said Kevin Wood, La Fayette’s General Manager. “We have been able to validate that the entire Blue Bird Corporation prides itself on being a leader, in both product and processes, in North American industry.”

In addition to Blue Bird’s North Georgia facility, other top ten finalists include: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control at both Ocala and Orlando, Florida; Batesville Casket Co. in Vicksburg, Mississippi; and Rieter Automotive Canadian Carpet in London, Ontario, Canada.

Profiles of the Top 10 in the 2007 “IW Best Plants” competition will appear in IndustryWeek’s January 2008 issue.
