Call for Annual NAPT-STN Leadership Award Nominees

ALBANY, N.Y. & REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (Aug. 14, 2007) — Nominations are sought for the NAPT-STN Leadership Award, which will be announced on Oct. 29 during the NAPT 33rd Annual Conference and Trade Show awards breakfast in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Denny Coughlin, the fleet operations manager at Minneapolis Public Schools, won the inaugural award last year in Kansas City for outstanding leadership provided to the pupil transportation industry.

Nominations for this year’s award must be postmarked by Sept. 14 and be addressed to: NAPT-STN Leadership Award, c/o School Transportation News, P.O. Box 789, Redondo Beach, CA, 90277. Questions may also be addressed to Bill Paul, STN's publisher.

Eligible nominees must be NAPT members and will have completed a minimum of three NAPT Professional Development Series education courses and be actively pursuing certification as a director or supervisor of pupil transportation. The winning individual will also be judged on making a lasting impression on the pupil transportation industry through their professional accomplishments and reputation as well as their dedication to and enthusiasm for transporting students.

In addition to a plaque honoring this year's recipient, STN will also donate $2,000 to the NAPT Foundation to further the association’s educational programs.
